What 2 words describe Miss Georgina:  Passionately Caring

Chiswick Theatre Arts is run by Georgina Burns AISTD and a member of the actors union Equity for a very long time!

Although she comes from a medical family, it appears that theatre is in the blood as her sister Nica Burns OBE owns six West End Theatres. Following in her sister’s footsteps, Georgina started dance classes at age 3, which she would only attend if she was wearing her leotard back to front and inside out.

Her first festival solo appearance at 5 was memorable for performing the whole dance with her back to the audience – the adjudicator commenting ‘ lovely dance darling, but would have been even better if we could have seen your face’. Miss Georgina would like to point out that no one had told her about an audience.

Miss Georgina was born in Chiswick and educated at Haberdashers Aske’s School for Girls, Elstree. Miss Georgina trained as a dancer at Joyce Butler School of Dance where she won hundreds of dance and drama competitions. At sixteen, she won a scholarship to train professionally for 3 years at the prestigious Birds Performance College, where she was the youngest student in the school. Here she gained her dance teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in Ballet, National and Modern Theatre. She reached advanced standards in all disciplines, and is proud that she received honours (the highest qualification) for all her advanced exams. When her final year show at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London was reviewed by The Dancing Times (THE dance magazine), she was the only student out of 100 to be picked out for individual praise. She worked professionally as a dancer and choreographer, appearing on TV, theatre and in the West End (original cast of 42nd Street at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane).

Miss Georgina then furthered her training at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) where she spent three wonderful years at drama school and received her acting diploma. She then worked as a professional actress and presenter.

Miss Georgina is passionate about the Arts and believes that if every child from an early age had access to a training in performing arts the world would be a different place.

Musicals Miss Georgina has directed and choreographed include Annie, Singin’ in the Rain, Beauty & the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, Bugsy Malone, Honk! & Oliver!

Georgina has twin boys who starred with James Franco, Kate Hudson and Anna Friel in the feature film ‘Good People’ playing Anna Friels son –  and was more than happy that at 13 weeks old they had a better CV than she did! Miss Georgina loves gardening, books, her golden retriever Charlie and Eastenders.
