Tamara

Dance Teacher (Early Years & Holistic Dance Education)

Tamara’s love for dance began at the age of three when she started classes at the Royal Academy of Dance. She later continued ballet at the Balham School of Dance and took up performing arts after gaining a Saturday scholarship at Italia Conti. During her twenties, she returned to dance and performance training at Kensington and Chelsea college, which resulted in achieving a BA Hons in Dance at Leeds University and led onto various performances and career experiences such as performing at the sister theatre to the globe, television performances and singing session work.

Following from over 20 years in holistic practice as a Holistic Healing Practitioner and Doula, Tamara has concluded that dance and performance is the key to tremendous therapeutic power, she believes dance is a medicine and that there is an artistic creative element within us all wanting to be expressed.

The same love, joy and passion Tamara felt as a child when she would dance and perform, is still very much alive within her today. She sees this same natural ability within all children and is deeply passionate about nurturing and developing this within them. She loves working with children and is passionate about helping them grow in confidence and self-belief through dance as the vehicle.

Tamara’s style of dance teaching is with gentle, yet clear leadership underpinned by her holistic approach. She is currently writing her first book on pregnancy and holistic childbirth, combining both passions together to deliver the message that ‘age is only a number and that there is art within us all’.
