What 2 words describe Miss Jill: Creative & Inspiring
Jill has been singing since she could talk. Hours of watching Judy Garland, Doris Day and Barbra Streisand left her with no choice but to follow her passion onto the stage.
Many school productions and Amateur shows fuelled that passion. Jill trained for 3 years in Musical Theatre at GSA, then trained with Mark Meylan, at the Actor’s Centre, before gaining much theatre experience in London, touring and Rome. Her favourite moment on stage was performing in Pantomime with Stanley Baxter at the King’s Theatre, Glasgow. It was so exciting to be performing in front of her hometown crowd and earning her Equity card! When not acting, Jill worked in Harrods and Selfridges as an Estee Lauder beauty consultant! Oh the glamour!
When still at school Jill helped run the school choir and has always worked with children. She was once a Brownie leader!
Jill believes everyone has a voice and everyone can sing, her teaching style is freeing and fun. It is her aim to help her pupils find their own talent and embrace all possibilities.
As well as teaching at CTA, Jill is a Music Teacher in a couple of Primary Schools as well as being a Child Integrative Arts Therapist. Art and Gardening are her ways of relaxing and escaping.
